Greetings Snow Community,
In our continuing efforts to provide you with accurate information, I want to share this brief message regarding comments made about our school.
This morning, details were shared with me about an individual who, while taking part in an on-line conversation, was making threatening comments directed toward Snow School. This conversation occurred after school hours in a non-school related chat group.
Upon hearing this information, I contacted our District Safety and Security Director who immediately began working with Dearborn Police to gather further information and locate the person who made the comments. Fortunately, police were able to quickly determine that the comments made did not pose any credible threat to the safety of our school. The individual who made the comment was identified and law enforcement is talking with the individual.
We are all aware of the very tragic event that occured in Georgia this past week and therefore understand that there is a heightened state of awareness and concern when we hear about someone making comments that could jeopardize the safety of our school. Once again, we are very fortunate that this incident was quickly resolved and there was no threat to our school.
I want to express my sincere thanks to our District Safety staff, the School Resource Officers, and the Dearborn Police. Their quick response to the situation provided a fast resolution and allowed us to remain focused on teaching and learning.
All of us here at Snow are dedicated to the safety and well being of our students. We know that by keeping an open line of communication with our parents and always working together we will continue to keep our school a safe place for everyone.
Regards,
Mr. Abdelfattah
Principal
