Snow Elementary School

News from the Principal

Happy New Year!

It is with very mixed emotions that I am sharing this news with you.  On Monday night, the Superintendent and Board of Education selected me for the position of K-12 Coordinator for Curriculum and Professional Development for Dearborn Public Schools.  It is a position that I actively sought and that I am very excited to obtain but I have loved being the principal of Snow for the last 6 and a half years.  This has been my home and I will miss all of you!

The interim principal will be Mrs. Amal Alcodray.  Mrs. Alcodray is married and the mother of 4.  She was born and raised in Dearborn and is a graduate of Dearborn Public Schools.  She attended the University of Michigan and Wayne State University for her undergraduate and graduate degrees.  Mrs. Alcodray has worked in the district for 14 years and has teaching experience at the elementary and middle school levels and counseling and administration at the high school level.  Most recently, she has been working as an administrator at Fordson High School and in Human Resources.

The position is effective February 1, 2017 and I will be transitioning with Mrs. Alcodray over the first couple of weeks in February.  You will have an opportunity to meet her soon.

Thank you for allowing me to lead the Snow School community.  Snow School is the best and I look forward to hearing about the many successes of Snow students for years to come.

Sincerely,

Ross C. Groover, Ed.D.
