It is almost M-STEP (state assessment) testing time again. 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students take this assessment in April and May this year ONLINE.
The schedule is as follows:
5th grade (English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies) – Monday, April 11 through Friday, April 29
3rd grade (English Language Arts, Math) – Monday, April 25 through Friday, May 13
4th grade (English Language Arts, Math, Science) – Monday, May 9 through Thursday, May 26
All M-STEP testing will be online this year and the tests are much shorter so we do not anticipate the lengthy test sessions that we experienced last year. Test sessions will be spread out throughout the testing window and your child will not test every day. All M-STEP tests are untimed and student-paced. Students who require more time than allocated will be allowed to complete each part of the test over multiple test sessions.
What you can do:
During this time, please refrain from making any appointments during the school day and make sure you child arrives to school ON TIME. Your child should be eating healthy foods, getting plenty of exercise and sleeping at least eight hours each night during this time and all year long. Encourage your children to take their time and do their very best.
